Since christmas-themed sweaters were mass-produced under the name "Jingle bell sweaters" In 1950, ugly christmas sweaters have come into people's sight through the promotion of sitcoms. If you look closely, there are many styles of intentionally ugly sweaters, including meme-themed sweaters and even a sweater with jesus breaking through. While it makes dressing up easier, it's missing some of the hands-on fun. So people are using the christmas sweater party as an excuse to get creative and make an ugly sweater of their own.

A sweater: If you want to add string lights, my recommendation is a sweater, one size larger than what you usually wear. If you're just looking to accessorize with accessorizing, sweatshirts are great too.

A hot glue gun and the right amount of stick

A white chalk

Here are four creative ways to make your sweater ugly and personal.

Method 1: Decorate a funny sweater with charms and bows

1. Choose a coarse knitted sweater, because it is not only easier to hang ornaments, but also can be put on again after taking off the ornaments. The thick fabric really helps you hang and remove charms without tearing or making too many holes in the cute sweater. Stick to fun christmas colors like green or red, or opt for a more neutral brown or tan sweater.

Tip: If you can't find a dirty sweater you like, you can always make an ugly christmas sweatshirt.

2. Collect all kinds of decorations and various bows. You can choose ornaments that you accidentally broke or crashed in the past, or you can go to a thrift store and buy a set of used ornaments. For bows, use gift wrap stickers, fabric bows, or make your own bows using metallic ribbon.

Generally, an adult or couples sweater needs 15-30 decorations. Remember, they definitely don't need to match, nor do they need to be extremely attractive. The more individual it is, the uglier the finished product will be.

For a more sparkly vacation sweater, opt for sparkly charms. They'll add sparkle to your look, and they'll catch tons of light, making you the star of the party.

3. Lay the weed chritmas sweater flat and separate the accessories. Adjust the spacing before you actually attach anything, and mark with chalk where you want the ornaments to be placed. We suggest that you can decorate the collar, sleeves or bottom of the shirt. Maybe you want to cover the entire surface of the sweater with as many decorations as possible.

5. Put on your 3d sweater carefully and don't lose any accessories. Try getting your arms in first, then bring the main body of the sweater down as slowly and carefully as possible. Ask a friend for help if needed!

Method 2: Make a fancy sweater using garlands

1. Save yourself an inexpensive sweater or cardigan. For this particular diy, it doesn't matter what color the llama sweater is because the entire garment will be covered in garland. If you choose a cardigan, make sure you have a red, green, white or black t-shirt underneath.

Bulbs or balls work great and will stand out against the sparkle of the garland. You can even use candy canes, pompoms, or trinkets.

Method 3: Turn yourself into a christmas tree

1. Grab a green sweater as the backdrop for your christmas tree. Use a sweater you already have if you don't mind not using it as often anymore. Alternatively, go to a thrift store and find a used green lantern sweater.

Any shade of green will work for this project. A bright green will stand out; a darker green will more closely resemble the actual color of the tree.

2. Use a hot glue gun to glue strands of garland around the deer sweater. Use silver, gold or red garlands for the most holiday-themed effect. Spiral the wreath from the bottom up around the elf sweater, mimicking what you would do on a real christmas tree. Once you know where you want the wreath to be, apply hot glue to the tacky sweater and press the wreath down into place. Although the glue dries quickly, allow about 30 minutes for it to fully dry and set before proceeding to the next step. Don't forget to put the wreath on the offensive sweater sleeves too.

Depending on how many wreaths you have, you could just do the front of the hot sweater. Or, if you have enough time, do both the front and the back at the same time.

3. Add some ornaments along each garland. Use your hot glue gun to attach some ornate ornaments along the length of the wreath. Only do this on the front of the raunchy sweater. Of course you can also use the led light with battery pack to illuminate your unisex christmas sweater. It is recommended that you use string lights, and you can choose colored string lights according to your preferences.

4. Make or find a star to make a christmas tree top hat for. Gold or silver stars look best traditionally, but don’t be afraid to get something sparkier – like ones covered in glitter or multicolored. At a party, you'll be holding the star with one hand, so make sure it's not too heavy to carry with you all night.

5. Put your hands together with the stars above your head to become a tree. At a party, show off your outfit by throwing your arms straight above your head and clasping your hands. Hold the star in your hand and make it the top of your christmas tree.

To make your dress look more like a traditional christmas tree, cut the tree skirt in half and use a hot glue gun to attach it to the bottom of the holiday ugly sweater. Position the skirt so the ruffles are facing down.

Method 4: Make glowing

1、Put a piece of cardboard inside the big and tall sweater so it doesn't stick together during making.

2、Cut your wire to fit the width of the sequin sweater. If you want to be super fancy, you can wrap it. But i settled on a nice diagonal pattern.

3、Cut the ties from the bow and glue them with a hot glue gun.

4、Glue bells and pompoms around the neckline.

5、Using glitter glue, make dots on the bow. Let it dry overnight to avoid smudging.

6、Starting at the end of the string opposite the battery pack, thread the first light through the naughty sweater. Use twisting motions and fingers to unfold the sweater. Be careful not to make the hole too big, but just enough to allow the bulb to go through.

7、Continue working your way down the sweater in a zig zag so that the battery pack ends at the bottom. When you go to wear this shirt, you will put it in your pocket.
